My pinata is a icecream cone.. the cone will not be filled with candy just the top.. what is the best way to attach them that way they dont come apart easily when the kids starting hitting at it.. this is a pic of the bottom I’m still waiting in the top to dry so I can decorate and attach it
Answer from Piñata Boy
Normally I attach all the parts of a piñata before decorating, and in that case I first use masking tape to hold the pieces in place then use a couple layers of papier mâché to cement them together. But you have already decorated the cone, so you don’t want to apply papier mâché over the decorated parts. Since you’re not adding any weight to the cone section, I would use hot glue to attach the cone to the ice cream. Hot glue should have plenty of strength to support the weight of the cone while the piñata is hanging.
If you don’t already have a hot glue gun, you can buy one at any craft store. Hot glue guns (and glue sticks) come in small and large size (sometimes called mini and full-size), and for this project you’ll want a large size hot glue gun. You’ll use up a few glue sticks going all the way around, so you might want to glue part of it and let it cool, then glue some more and let that cool, and so on. If you try to do it all at once, the first glue you apply might already be too cold by the time you finish going all the way around.
Good luck!
