It’s my first time making a piñata let alone a brain piñata! No idea where to start and we really want the brain channels to be pronounced….any advice you have would be greatly appreciated!
Answer from Piñata Boy
Great idea! I would form the basic brain shape first using many small balloons taped together to get the general brain shape. When the papier mâché is dry I would add the brain channels by applying some bunched up wet papier mâché newspaper along the surface of the brain. I did something similar to this on a smaller scale on the stem of the Jack-o-Lantern piñata. The detailing on the stem isn’t quite the same as what you would do on a brain — the stem details are a sharper than what you would want on a brain, but you can accomplish it the same way — just smush the newspaper down to form bumpy, rounded lines instead of sharp ones. The painting afterward is what will really bring the brain channels to life. Good luck!
