If I were doing it, my first approach to making Elsa’s pony tail would be to use braided crepe paper. A regular-sized roll of crepe paper is 81 feet long, so I would cut this into nine 9-foot lengths. Then I would braid three of them together (not too tight), then braid another three together, and then braid the last three together. Then I would take these three braids and braid them together. You’ll lose a lot of length as you braid them, so it’ll come out a lot shorter than the original nine feet. If it’s too long, you can always cut it shorter. Then I would use regular crepe paper for the rest of her hair.
You can also thicken up the crepe paper before making the braids by going down the length of each piece and bunching it up with your hand like we did for Lil Wayne’s dreadlocks. This will give the hair more body as you make the braids. To make even thicker braids, you can bunch up two or three pieces together, then braid them together.
