Without a balloon. With cardboard. Looks like a soccer ball piñata. Easy and hard to brake. Room for lots of candy.
Answer from Piñata Boy
The easiest way to make a soccer ball piñata from thin cardboard is to find a soccer ball template you can trace and cut out. Fortunately, there’s one posted on a website called Paper Models of Polyhedra. This template will create a life size (9″ in diameter) soccer ball piñata. The third link on this page will give you the life-size soccer ball.

The author of the site, Dutch author and designer Gijs Korthals Altes, has also created templates for a number of other three-dimensional shapes. A full listing can be found at the Paper Models of Polyhedra home page at http://www.korthalsaltes.com/
Good luck!
