Good day ,
What thickness of crepe paper do you use?
I see there is 60grams, 100 grams and 180 grams?
Answer from Piñata Boy
I usually use streamer crepe paper for my piñatas, which is the 60 gram paper. The heavier crepe papers would also work, but they’re more expensive and I usually try to keep my material costs low. I wonder if the thicker crepe papers would provide a different texture — that’s something I’ll have to look into. Thanks for mentioning it!
That said, I’ve used a lot of different kinds of streamer crepe paper over the years, and some were thicker than others. When I used really thin crepe paper, it didn’t fluff up as well as the regular crepe paper. I would fluff it up, but it wouldn’t stay up as well — it would start to droop back down a little. The extra thick crepe paper might actually fluff up better than standard streamer crepe paper, but the regular streamer paper is inexpensive and works pretty well.
