How to make a Doctor Who tardis pinata

Answer from Piñata Boy

The best way to make any kind of square block type piñata is with a box.  You want to find a thin cardboard box (like the cardboard used for cereal boxes), not one made of thick corrugated cardboard, because even thin cardboard is difficult to break with a stick. Normally I would still cover the cardboard box in papier mâché to stiffen the walls and prevent them from bending, but if the box you are using can support the weight of the candy without warping, you can sometimes get away with decorating the box itself and not even using papier mâché  at all.  Also, when you apply strips of wet papier mâché to cardboard, the cardboard can absorb water and become wavy as it dries, so be sure to squeeze out excess water before applying the papier mâché strips to the cardboard, and don’t apply too many strips at once.
