I have no idea?
Answer from Piñata Boy
The easiest way to make a Santa piñata is to make just his head. The Santa Smiley piñata was made from just one party balloon, and you could do something similar without using the yellow smiley face as a base.
If you want to make a Santa Claus piñata that looks like the decoration in the photo, keep in mind that piñatas aren’t very good with details — the contours of Santa’s face in the decoration, for example, are hard to replicate on a piñata. So you’ll be building something that is the same general shape, but will be a piñata version of the decoration rather than a recreation of the decoration itself. If I were to make a piñata based on that Santa Claus decoration, I would use a balloon for the head and a piece of thin cardboard curled into a cylinder for the body. The rest of the contours — such as the arms, the beard, the green trim on his coat, and so on — would all be added in the decorating stage rather than be done in papier mâché.
How you choose to decorate the piñata is often the funnest part of making it. I’ll often wander the aisles of a craft store looking for materials I have never used before. I can think of a half-dozen different ways to make the beard, for example, each of which would give it a different texture and appearance.
Good luck!
